Save the Children – Donate Your Birthday
Save the Children envisions a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. Through our work on the “Donate Your Birthday” campaign, we provided new creative direction and program strategy to ultimately inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.

Challenge
- Increase visibility and participation for Save the Children’s “Donate Your Birthday” program
- Establish a new tone and visual direction for the program
- Identify both short-term and long-term goals for improving communications tools and platforms used to administer the program
Approach
- Contrasted donor-centric creative concepts against concepts that were focused solely on child beneficiaries
- Outlined communications and datakeeping requirements to provide direction on platform selection and campaign timing
- Introduced basic campaign functions in a short timeframe (4 weeks) while also providing recommendations for next steps
Outcome
- Delivered multiple creative concepts for Save the Children to choose from based on their audience personas and organizational culture
- Applied the winning creative concept to real-world deliverables (email stationery, calls to action, hero imagery, etc.)
- Provided a roadmap outlining program strategy as well as platform / technical necessities that will enhance campaign capacity and grow the program over time
