Due to Apple’s restrictions on fundraising through iPhone Apps, Food For The Poor took a two pronged approach to achieve their goal:

Launched an iPhone App "Live Prayer" to p promote a culture of prayer through immediate call backs, email, or weekly prayer devotionals; and

Madethe Food For the Poor website mobile friendly to improve the the usability experience for their mobile constituency who want to financially support Food for the Poor programs
Result:

Food for the Poor’s mobile friendly website launched at the end of January 2011

In the first 6 weeks, Food for the Poor saw a 246% increase in donations originating from mobile devices; and
-
A 267% increase in the actual number of mobile transactions compared to heavy year-end giving months of Nov - Dec 2010.There have been over 1,500 downloads of the "Live Prayer" iPhone Application
