Project Details

RESOLVE partnered with Charity Dynamics to develop a strategy that would promote the nonprofit’s annual Advocacy Day held in Washington, DC. Charity Dynamics created a micro-site which provided details of the event and an easy way for interested parties to sign up. While registering, a supporter could mark on a Google Map where they are from and show how far they were traveling to participate.

Other online activities that formed part of the strategy to support Advocacy Day in DC included a YouTube video with testimonials from Advocacy Day 2008, an area to tell personal infertility stories, and an email campaign which included personalized emails based on whether or not your Senator was supporting the bills focused on infertility. RESOLVE also used Facebook—asking constituents to donate their status to support RESOLVE—and Twitter to get the word out.

Results

  • Boosted the number of Advocacy Day participants by 125% from 2008 to 2009
  • Increased the number of Facebook fans by 2000% and Twitter followers by 67%
